I am a little worried, I am 16 weeks and I am barely showing yet, I went for an ultrasound and the tech said that the baby was measuring a little small, but no problems. I am normally 5 ft 3in and 115 pounds. So not sure if that has something to do with it. Advise anyone?
As everyone is advising you please do not worry. Most women are unaware that when we worry this stress is picked up by our unborn child and if not released can affect your child for life. So please just focus on connecting and falling more and more in love with this incredible being growing inside of you.
From my midwifery experience someone that is 5 ft 3 inches, weighing 115 pounds and gained five pounds since pregnancy then this is fantastic! Well done! You are on target. At this point in your pregnancy your abdominal muscles are still very firm and this is why you are not showing so much. Within the next four weeks you will start to see a nice bump growing as your baby will undergo rapid growth from this point onwards.
Your estimated date of your delivery may change depending on ultrasound findings and if you have had a previous ultrasound to correlate dates and growth. It is not unusual for the ultrasound to be off by a week or so. The purpose of an ultrasound at 16 weeks is to confirm dates and check the anatomy of the baby. It sounds like your baby is totally normal so sit back, enjoy motherhood.
